During COVID-19 pandemic


What's allowed

According to the latest government advice, Wagtails Dog Grooming falls into the middle group of businesses that should reopen providing procedures are in place to maintain Safe Distancing and minimise the risk of infection.

I now have procedures in place to meet these requirements, to keep us all safe.

Are you COVID-19 free ?

If you or any member of your household have

  •  COVID-19
  •  Have suspected COVID-19 symptoms
  •  Are in a 14 day COVID-19 quarantine period.

then please

  • DO NOT visit the salon.
  • DO NOT get anyone else to bring your dog as the virus can live on the dogs coat for up to 72hrs.

This is both for my safety and that of my other customers.

Social distancing

Social distancing rules must be followed when visiting Wagtails. These rules require that:

  1. You cannot enter the grooming area but must follow the handover process detailed below.
  2. During the pandemic cash will NOT be accepted (to reduce risk of virus transmission).
    Payment can be via
    • Contactless debit or credit cards (payments up to £45 are now accepted)
    • Contactless payments via Apple Pay or Google Pay
    • Bank transfer into the wagtails account (the day before your appointment).
      Account details available on request.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused but it is for you, your dog and my safety that these procedures are in place and it allows me to gradually reopen.

Cleaning

Before your dog enters the grooming salon the entire area will be sanitised including all equipment and stations which you and/or your dog will come into contact.


Arrival process

On arrival you are not permitted to enter the grooming area, this is to ensure we maintain the required 2 Meter distance.

  • There is a crate at the entrance to the grooming area for you to place your dog.
  • We can still discuss your grooming requirements but must stay 2 Metres apart.
    Yellow and black tape on the floor indicates 2 Metres in distance, please don’t cross it.
    Similarly, I will stay my side of the 2 Metre mark until you leave to ensure our safety.
  • Once you have left, I will retrieve your pet from the crate and proceed with the groom as per normal.

Collection process

On arrival you are not permitted to enter the grooming area, this is to ensure we maintain the required 2 Metre distance.

  • When you inform me of your arrival I will place your dog in the crate, step back behind the 2 Metre line, and open the door to permit you to enter.
  • You may then step forward and retrieve your dog from the crate.
  • If you are paying via contactless, the card reader will be ready for you on top of the dog crate.
  • If paying via bank transfer please make payment the day before your appointment, the ‘reference field’ should be set to your full name so that I can identify your payment.
